A Future Safe Place for Families
Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS) is building a permanent child protection and family support facility in Southern Haiti creating a lasting home for family reunification, counselling, outreach, and community support.
Who is Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS)?
Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS) is a Canadian-registered charity that has spent over 15 years on the ground in Haiti, protecting vulnerable children and keeping families together. Co-founded in 2011 in the aftermath of the 2010 earthquake, LFBS was built on a hard truth its founders witnessed firsthand: over 80% of children living in Haitian institutions are not orphans. They are poverty orphans, separated from living families through false promises and financial desperation.
Today, LFBS works hand in hand with Haitian authorities, community leaders, and local child protection partners to prevent unnecessary separation, support family reunification, and strengthen the systems meant to protect children in the first place. LFBS is a trusted partner with a track record measured in families kept whole, earned one relationship at a time.
Building a Safer Future for Children and Families
Walk For Good’s newest partnership is supporting Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS) in building a permanent, earthquake-resistant child protection and family support facility in Southern Haiti. This facility will become a lasting hub for family reunification, counselling, outreach, and community-based child protection, replacing 15 years of temporary rented space with a permanent facility built on LFBS-owned land.
This project advances LFBS’s vision of strengthening families and keeping children safely within their communities by providing parents with the support and resources they need to raise their children. It is a foundation for safer childhoods, stronger families, and more resilient communities across Haiti.
A Safe Place for Families
“This investment will create lasting support for vulnerable children, families, and communities in Haiti.”
Little Footprints Big Steps (LFBS)A Permanent Home for Hope
Through this project, Little Footprints Big Steps will build a permanent, earthquake-resistant facility that will provide a safe, lasting home for child protection and family support services across Southern Haiti.
A welcoming, permanent location where families in crisis know exactly where to turn for help.
Confidential rooms where children and families can heal, reconnect, and plan for a brighter future.
A permanent base where every child's journey can be carefully supported from first contact through family reunification.
A space for parenting workshops, community education, and prevention programs that strengthen families before crises occur.
Secure storage for essential supplies, allowing teams to respond quickly during hurricanes and other emergencies.
By eliminating ongoing rental costs, more funding goes directly toward helping children and families.
More than an office, this facility will be a trusted centre for child protection, family reunification, and community support for generations to come.
Building for the Future
Every family is worth fighting for.
Every one of these spaces exists because someone decided a family was worth fighting for. Walk with LFBS, or donate directly, and help build the facility that makes that fight sustainable.
